According to reports, Matthijs de Ligt will begin training at Bayern Munich while the defender is still far from finishing his Manchester United transfer.
The Dutch defender will take his pre-season medical exams in Munich when he returns from his vacation on Friday, after the European Championship, according to Sky Germany. Even though the Bavarians are still considering his leaving, De Ligt is still committed to his work and will get ready for the next season with the team
Bayern, who are apparently wanting €50 million (£42 million/$54 million) plus additional bonus payments, and United have not yet struck a deal. The current standoff in negotiations is believed to be caused by the two clubs’ almost €15 million (£13m/$16m) disparity in valuations for the defender.
When Bayern plays Tottenham of England during their preseason tour of Asia, De Ligt is not the only important player who will be missing. Michael Olise, an Olympian, and the returning players from the European Championship—Kingsley Coman, Dayot Upamecano, Leroy Sane, Harry Kane, and Alphonso Davies—will stay in Munich with him.
