Let’s face it, goals are king in Fantasy Premier League and that’s why you need to pack your team with forwards who score on a regular basis.
Even better is the forward who takes penalties and provides their fair share of assists too. It can be difficult to figure out the best forward options in fantasy football, particularly when you need to spread your budget around.
Here, GOAL brings you the best forwards to include in your FPL team, including the top options, budget alternatives and mid-priced gems.
Erling Haaland equals goals and, for some, you simply cannot do without him in FPL if you want to stand a chance of winning whatever league you’re in.
It’s easy to see why. Haaland scored 272 points (36 goals, nine assists) in his maiden FPL season and followed that up with 217 points (27 goals, eight assists) in 2023-24.
The only drawback to having Haaland is the price – he is comfortably the most expensive player in FPL at £15m, which is a significant chunk of the budget which has to stretch across 15 players. Decisions, decisions.
Ollie Watkins has gone from strength to strength at Aston Villa and the England international has established himself as one of the best strikers in the Premier League.
He has regularly scored over 130 points in FPL, but 2023-24 was his best season to date, with 228 points (19 goals, 18 assists) accrued.
His price has risen somewhat in 2024-25, but even though Watkins is the second most expensive forward at the start of the FPL season, he is £6m cheaper than Haaland.
Alexander Isak was Newcastle United’s most potent goal threat in 2023-24 and his price reflects that status in FPL 2024-25. The Sweden striker scored 172 points (21 goals, four assists) in the game last term and the Magpies will demand even more from him this term.
Kai Havertz takes plenty of criticism for not scoring enough goals, but he was just 20 points shy of the 200 mark in his FPL points haul in 2023-24.
The Germany international scored 13 goals for the Gunners, but also supplied 10 assists. It’s a team game though, so Havertz’s overall points tally was boosted by the fact that Arsenal had the meanest defence – they conceded just 29 goals all season.
If Mikel Arteta’s men carry on in the same vein in 2024-25, Havertz represents a solid option.

Rasmus Hojlund | Man Utd | £7m
⚽️ Best mid-price option ⚽️
Rasmus Hojlund enjoyed his best-ever season from a personal perspective last term, scoring 16 goals across all competitions, 10 of which came in the Premier League.
At £7m in FPL, Hojlund is relatively cheap for a striker at a team with designs on Premier League glory and he certainly has the potential to be a 20-goal-a-season forward at Old Trafford if he can stay fit. Therefore, he is potentially great value, particularly if he hits the ground running.

Dominic Solanke | Bournemouth | £7.5m
Bournemouth toiled at the wrong end of the table in 2023-24, but Dominic Solanke was still one of the best-scoring forwards in FPL nonetheless.
He finished the season with 175 points (19 goals, three assists), a total that saw him outscore the likes of Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund, Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson and Liverpool’s main attacker Darwin Nunez.
It may be a big ask to expect Solanke to repeat the feat for Bournemouth in 2024-25, but at £7.5m, he is half the price of Haaland, who had just 42 points more than him last term.

Ivan Toney | Brentford | £7.5m
Brentford will have the benefit of being able to call upon Ivan Toney from the start of the season and the England striker will be eager to get back to the levels he hit in 2022-23 when he scored 20 goals in the Premier League.
The charismatic striker scored four goals and provided three assists in his abridged campaign last term, while his status as an accomplished penalty-taker makes him a strong option.

Nicolas Jackson | Chelsea | £7.5m
Along with Cole Palmer, Nicolas Jackson was Chelsea’s most potent goal threat in 2023-24, scoring 14 goals and assisting six for his team-mates. He finished the season with 142 points in FPL and is perfectly capable of bettering that tally in 2024-25 under Enzo Maresca.

Darwin Nunez | Liverpool | £7.5m
After struggling in front of goal in his first two seasons at Anfield, Liverpool’s Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez has taken a lot of flak from Reds fans and rival supporters alike, so he has a point to prove in 2024-25.
It remains to be seen how Darwin fits into Arne Slot’s new system following the departure of Jurgen Klopp, but he is a striker who is capable of scoring and also provides for his attacking partners.

Adam Armstrong | Southampton | £5.5m
💸 Best bargain option 💸
At £5.5m, Adam Armstrong is a solid cheaper option to pick in FPL when you consider he arrives back in the Premier League having scored 24 goals for the Saints in the Championship last season.
While Armstrong was never prolific during his years in the Premier League, he could surprise a few doubters after the season he just had.

Jean-Philippe Mateta | Crystal Palace | £7.5m
Jean-Philippe Mateta enjoyed arguably the best season of his career in 2023-24, scoring 16 goals and providing seven assists in a campaign which earned him the Crystal Palace Player of the Year award.
He carried that form into the Olympics with France and Palace fans will be hopeful that he can replicate it once more in 2024-25.
A note of caution should be sounded with Mateta, however. He may require a rest after the Olympics, meaning he could miss the first few weeks.

Rodrigo Muniz | Fulham | £6m
Rodrigo Muniz was one of the surprise packages of 2023-24, helping Fulham to fill the gap left by Aleksandar Mitrovic, and looks set to lead the line in 2024-25. The Brazilian scored 10 goals in all competitions and earned just shy of 100 points in FPL, despite only featuring for just over half the season.
Muniz thrived in the responsibility and demonstrated his growing confidence by scoring an outrageous bicycle kick against Sheffield United. Muniz will compete with Raul Jimenez (£5.5m) for the starting jersey.
