According to reports, Barcelona is aiming for straightforward loan agreements where Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo’s entire salary is paid, and they have no plans to pay for them

Barcelona’s interest in Cancelo is still quite high, despite their limited budget. According to Daily Star, the Catalan club is prepared to pay a loan fee of £7 million ($9 million) and an additional £18 million ($23 million) to complete the transfer permanently at the conclusion of the agreement. Though it was a year later, Manchester City was willing to negotiate despite their desire for an outright sale this summer because they had raised about £25 million ($32 million) in total from Cancelo’s deal.

On the contrary, Mundo Deportivo claims Barcelona are not ready to shell out a single penny on loan fees and are looking get Cancelo on another loan deal that will see them cover his entire wages. This strategy aligns with the club’s financial constraints and the need to operate within their economic reality.

In a similar vein, Felix is someone Barcelona would like to have on loan without paying extra. To spread out the cost of Felix’s contract, Atletico Madrid and City are both thinking about making a transfer. They have more negotiating power because the player is under contract through 2029.
