Kylian Mbappe made Dani Carvajal ‘suffer’ as Real Madrid defender welcomes French superstar to Santiago Bernabeu ahead of potential debut in UEFA Super Cup

Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal welcomed Kylian Mbappe to Santiago Bernabeu as he revealed the Frenchman made him “suffer” in the past.
Mbappe is likely to make his Real Madrid debut on Wednesday as the reigning Champions League and La Liga winners take on Europa League champions Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup in Warsaw. Ahead of his maiden appearance for Los Blancos, the 25-year-old received a warm welcome from his new team-mate Carvajal, who admitted that the France captain had made him “suffer” in the past.
The duo have come face to face on multiple occasions in the recent past in the Champions League knockout stages as well as in group matches. They were also due to face each other in the semi-finals of Euro 2024 as Spain faced France, however, Carvajal did not feature in the game due to a suspension.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference ahead of the Atalanta clash, the Spanish right full-back said: “I’ve suffered against him (Kylian Mbappe) in the past, and I’m sure that he’s going to help us a lot.”
After Wednesday’s UEFA Super Cup clash, Carlo Ancelotti’s side will next be seen in action in their La Liga opener on Sunday against Mallorca.
