Oxlade-Chamberlain left Liverpool last summer as he joined Besiktas as a free agent, however, the 30-year-old failed to shine for the Turkish side as they finished sixth in the Super Lig last season. Besiktas have now brought in former Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst and the Dutchman is looking to overhaul the squad.
As per The Sun, Championship side Sheffield United are looking to make additions to their squad this summer and are targeting Crystal Palace forward Jesurun Rak-Sakyi on loan. However, if the Blades fail to sign him they could go for the former Liverpool and Arsenal midfielder as they want to incorporate experience into their squad.
As per Express Sport, Premier League side Ipswich Town are also interested in signing Oxlade-Chamberlain, but the report has claimed there have been ‘no concrete talks’ between the two parties over a potential move. However, the report also states that ‘salary could be a stumbling block in negotiations’.
The 30-year-old’s wages will be a big stumbling block in negotiations with any side and it will remain to be seen whether Besiktas will be willing to negotiate over the salary issues.
